What is an Express Design Sprint?
Discovering your design requirements takes time. But an Express Design Sprint can help you outline your top level needs though a two-day workshop. It’s based on the lauded Sprint methodology designed by Google Ventures.
How does it work?
This is a collaborative workshop in which a StartUX consultant works directly with up to four representatives from your company. This could be founders or other stakeholders.
On day one, we take the time to come to a deep understanding of your proposed product or service, and to define one primary and one secondary user goal.
We then create user journeys for these goals, and identifying potential problem areas. Using an iterative approach, we sketch solutions to these obstacles and work together to find the most promising concepts.
On the second day, we move from conceptual to detailed designs. We’ll create testable prototypes using a variety of tools, which could include presentation software like PowerPoint or Keynote, or more UX specific drawing tools.
We also have the option of running short user test sessions that day to validate this work; between 10 and 20 minutes each. This is not a requirement for Express Design Sprints, but we do recommend it. Be advised that you’ll need to supply participants if you plan to take up this option. We’ll work with you in advance to schedule test times.
